Our Wedding // The Ceremony

our wedding ceremony / a thousand threads
I didn’t think it was possible, but our ceremony was even better than I could have imagined.

Even though we went back and forth over what it should include, all we really needed were our vows.  Staring into Mark’s eyes through my tears, saying the words I’d pored over for months… I’ve never meant anything more.

The crying began with my father, who told me how proud he was just before taking my arm… but in a desperate attempt to preserve my mascara (which was shockingly resilient in the end!) I tried to hold back… collect myself as best I could.

As we walked down the aisle, Moonsville Collective (our amazing band) played “Living of Love” by the Avett Brothers, and all I could see was Mark’s face… I was done.  I think I cried through the rest of the ceremony.

Our officiant’s words were personal and perfect… it meant so much that the person marrying us really took the time to get to know us, and during the ceremony it really showed.  Then came our vows, and later when I share our wedding film you’ll see… I wasn’t able to hold it together at all.

We laughed, we bawled, we shivered… but I couldn’t feel the cold one bit.

Our ceremony was truly the happiest moment of my life.
