Scheduling Some Free Time

the best to eye, to buy, to make, and to bake / a thousand threads
I’ve only just recently learned that everyone isn’t this way (I’m still not quite sure I believe it…) but for me, a busy social life usually means that I’m going to get to a point where I need a few days at home alone to recharge (extroverts — no?).

So after a few busy weeks months, there came a… let’s just say a moment, that sounds way better than breakdown… a few weeks ago when I found myself at a place where I needed to say enough was enough. We had to find some time to refuel. To unwind and do nothing. So, because right now our lives are just that busy – and even the weekends where we really meant to relax… we did anything but – we decided to schedule it…

So here we go. Let the laziness begin. I’m not going to feel guilty… I’m not going to make a list… I’m going to actively soak up as much of this last of only two remaining pool weekends we have before that dastardly cold shows up again and ruins it all.

Sometimes you just have to force a good thing, and that’s okay… because it’s going to feel so good.

Hope you have a good weekend! I’ll try to also unplug as much as I can… but on that front, I’m not sure I have any promises. Maybe I’ll see you over on Instagram.

Eye some good advice.

Buy this sweater that I’m dying — dying I tell you — to have.

Make this pretty pegboard.

Bake this citrus polenta breakfast cake.

22 past and present “Saturday Night Live” cast members talk about their audition. Classic line: “If you went and got ice, you would hear snippets of auditions. Everybody else’s stuff sounds better than yours.” I think we all feel that way every once in a while.

Just so amazing, these penguin sounds… I die.

What should you do with your life? Take your pick.

I will always love you, Dolly!

This “Get Your Sh*t Together” series is really, really good.

I am the very, very same way: when I have been really busy, I always need to take a bit of time off to reenergize. Love all of your links this week! That penguin video makes me laugh every single time, hahahaha!

Introverts unite! I’m always trying to come up with an interesting way to say, “I saw no one and did nothing and it was divine.”
