Canning with Kinfolk

I already live pretty far from the city, but in my dreams (in a world where commuting is a thing of the past) I’d love to be able to move even farther out… somewhere like this idyllic little farm where I spent my Saturday canning and celebrating the changing season with a group of new friends.

If you’re familiar with Kinfolk or with Rebecca’s blog, you’re probably not surprised that the event was beautiful (read: perfect in every way) but even more than that, it was a joy to attend.

Even though I arrived without knowing a soul, I felt an instant connection with the people there, feeling more like I was at a dinner with family and friends than a workshop or an event. Everyone shared the same desire to get out of the city and enjoy the simpler things for a day. And for someone who spends the majority of her time surrounded by the policy and politics that currently have us all stuck in a government shutdown, the company was much appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who made the day possible, making sure we all left with happy hearts and an arm full of goodies. West Elm, Lehmans, Shop Fog Linen, Olmay Home, Sweet Root Village, Holly Chapple, Jennifer Olmstead and, of course, Kinfolk, Rebecca Gallop, and Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm. It couldn’t have been a more wonderful time.
