A clean slate // My freshly painted office

This week I’ve been talking all about my experience at Alt, but one of the most exciting things in my life that week was actually happening at home, inside our sad little office that’s been waiting to be pulled together for, oh… about a year.

My sweet husband was working his butt off to surprise me with a fresh coat of paint — and for this, he wins the year.

As you know, our house is still sort of in a state of flux, and the office has been the last to come around. We picked up this gorgeous desk something like six months ago and had big plans, but then we decided to paint downstairs, which led to painting the hallway upstairs, the trim, and damn near everything else (oh, the horror I feel at the sight of a paintbrush these days) and with all of that work, the office was pushed down the list.

But I’ve been crying about it… because I really, really want this pretty workspace to happen. Especially since we have the major bones of it all taken care of. We just needed the paint and the decor!

So now we have at least one of those, and I can’t even tell you how excited I am. Finally, it’s starting to feel like a useable space, somewhere we can both be inspired. And finally we can use those darn walls for our white backgrounds instead of taping paper to the wall!
