A recent invitation to speak made it all too clear that my professional headshot was starting to look a little worse for wear. So Mark and I pulled out the camera, and now my professional Twitter and LinkedIn pages are all shiny and new.

But the process wasn’t easy, so I thought I’d share a little bit a tutorial here. Read on to see how we pulled it off…

First of all, it’s very important that you strike a professional pose…

And of course, smile big…

Make sure your photographer is pointing the camera in the right direction…

Adjust your glasses…

Look straight at the camera…

And there you have it, a shiny new headshot for your day job…

    Ha!! The final photo may be super professional, but I think you should’ve gone with the “smile big” one :-)

    Hahah adjusting your glasses, so cute! Ah, where was this post a few weeks ago–I just submitted my photo for my college ID! I start my freshman year of college in a week, eek! I’m so excited :) Time to get my mature on. -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

    These are wonderful! I love posts like this — I think it’s easy for us bloggers to get a little too caught up in the looking perfect all the time thing. Nice to get away from that occasionally!
