Camping with United by Blue

A few weeks ago, I was excited to find a unique invitation in my inbox from United by Blue. A group of ladies from the brand wondered if I’d be interested in joining an even bigger group of ladies from around the area for some hiking, campfires, and of course, s’mores… basically all of the things I love most.

This wouldn’t be glamping, they wanted to do it up right… and I was ecstatic to join.

So what do you get when you put a group of lady bloggers out in the woods for a weekend of roughing it in the rain, cold, and snow?

Well it turns out you get a pretty badass camping trip. More badass than I even could have imagined.

… it’s possible that you might also get a pissed off park ranger, but neveryoumind.

The ladies at United by Blue were beyond hospitable, and do it up right they did. We hiked, we camped, we strung up tarps to protect ourselves from the pouring rain, and we laughed and talked for hours.

I was impressed more than once with this kickass group of ladies and their confidence in putting up tents and building fires in the rain, toughing it out through the sleet and snow, and rocking the hell out of some tasty camp food that went way beyond s’mores.

We had so much fun that we managed to draw the ire of that one angry park ranger, who gave us all a nice flashback to high school when he searched our coolers and made us pour out our beer… but all in all, we didn’t let his grumpy face, the elements, the lack of beer (we had plenty of cider & rye) or anything else spoil our good time.

I can’t begin to thank United by Blue enough for bringing together such an awesome group of women. I feel lucky to know every one of them… and one of these days (when the weather is maybe just a little teesy bit warmer) I really do hope we can do it again.

I’ve never gone backpacking or camping before, but I really want to! I lived in Beijing for the last eight years and hardly saw the sun because of the pollution, so now that I’m in the USA for college, I really want to do more outdoors-y things! Wow that waterfall is magnificent. NATURE IS MAGICAL! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

Aww Audrey you have to! Maybe it’s because I grew up so close to nature, but it’s one of my favorite things in the world!

This looks like so much fun! Great photos as well. I don’t know how people can enjoy glamping as if I’m in the woods I want to be roughing it for sure. I just stumbled across your blog today and will be following along from now on (:

Oh man, I can’t believe you guys got busted by the park ranger – too funny! Sounds like you had great company on this trip 🙂 Camping in the fall always seemed like a really fun idea – maybe we’ll get around to it one of these days!
