{Wedding Film Wednesday}

Would you mind if we do something a little different today?  Like… maybe a proposal film?

With a big dose of Disney (as in both this proposal takes place at Downtown Disney and should be in a Disney movie) a flash mob, and a super nervous adorable groom-to-be this might just be the cutest proposal ever caught on film.

A big big thanks to Lover.ly for pointing this one out on Twitter yesterday!

I can’t actually stop watching…

I dare you not to smile when you watch this adorable dance off shot by the ah-mazing Sharkpig.  This is exactly the amount of fun I want to have at my own wedding…

Jessica & Joe Dance Off from Shark Pig.

You might recognize Jessica and Joe’s wedding from its drop dead gorgeous feature on 100 Layer Cake.  The event was chock full of genius inspiration thanks to the amazing ladies at Bash, Please — who turn everything they touch to gold.

And by the way — if you loved Jessica and Joe’s dance off be sure to take a little time out to watch their beautiful wedding film, also shot by Sharkpig.

I don’t know if it’s the music, the emotion, or the just crazy perfection of the wedding itself but this is one of my favorite wedding films ever.

Maybe you’ve already seen it… but just in case you haven’t, the film is a must watch.  Elsie Larson of A Beautiful Mess put together the most amazing wedding (I mean seriously perfect) and her videographer, Brandon Goodwin, couldn’t have captured it better.

I just love this sweet super 8 wedding film by Modern 8 Films.  Dave and Shelley’s DIY wedding was the perfect little day, and Modern 8 couldn’t have captured it better.

You might recognize today’s couple.  It was only days ago that their gorgeous wedding graced the pages of this blog… but when I saw their film I just had to set it aside for the next Wednesday post.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

megan + cameron || that was fun from Hello Tomorrow on Vimeo.

And here’s a little from Hello Tomorrow’s blog, the lovely folks who did Megan and Cam’s film:

First impressions: The couple came to pick us up at the airport when we arrived in Edmonton. While Cam (the groom) waited in the car, Megan (the bride) came in to get us. All I knew about this couple is that both were lawyers. Naturally I was scanning the airport for a very serious looking woman with a subtle up-do, a grey or black pantsuit and sensible, black high heels. Then I heard “Hi guys!” from across baggage claim. I looked up to see this blonde bombshell with big hair, a tight, bright pink, ruffled dress and super high heels! Not the lawyer I was expecting. WAY better. Then we met Cam. Another not-what-you-would-expect lawyer. Cam has facial hair. Cam looks adorably young for his age. Cam loves the environment. Cam REALLY loves sharks. Cam will save all the sharks.

Besides being an incredibly smart and good looking couple, Megan and Cam are very passionate about helping the environment and helping people. They’re one of those couples that make you feel like you’ve known them forever when you first meet them.

Today’s film from Bliss Productions is THE BEST.

I don’t even know where to start.  From “Queen Kong + Separate Agenda Guy” to “By the power of Grayskull” (which Mark sweetly informed me is from He-Man) … it is so much fun, so personal, so perfect.

If, like me, you’re obsessed with all things Martha, you might already recognize this unbelievably gorgeous affair (and know just how perfectly executed it was).

Laura and Justin’s ceremony took place in a redwood grove, with a grand piano playing in the background.  Their invitations were inspired by Laura’s favorite novel, “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” by Jonathan Safran Foer, and began with the phrase, “We would be extremely honored and incredibly psyched …”  Each intricate detail (the invites match the textiles!) was designed with the help Alison Events and the brilliant Jenny Pennywood.

The day was packed with inspiring details.  If you haven’t already, you have to take a look.

Today’s wedding film is really special, because it was shot entirely by a friend of the bride and groom… and not a friend who also happens to be a professional videographer. A friend with nothing more than an iPhone and some seriously awesome editing skills.

Brooke, who was also a bridesmaid, was there for every second of the wedding action from the leadup to the day of, so she was able to capture moments that a regular videographer could only dream of.

The result? Amazing. To say the least…

The film was originally posted on Grey Likes Weddings… and it has stayed with me since. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

The song in the video is “Same Heart” by The Bonfires.

The Cana Family

A recent meeting with our awesome videographers has me even more excited about the idea of our wedding film… so excited that I started to wonder why wedding films don’t get more attention on the blogs? They usually show up somewhere near the end of a post… so late in the game that sometimes I don’t even watch… have you noticed the same?

The thing is that the ones I do watch are often so amazing, and so inspiring, that they stay with me much longer than anything else. A good wedding film can really tell the story of the couple and their day the way nothing else can.

So I thought I’d start a new feature here on the blog… one dedicated solely to the best of those films… the ones that really show the best of what a wedding film can be.

And who better to start Wedding Film Wednesday off than the amazing team I chose for my own wedding, The Cana Family.

Ben and Drew are not just super talented, they’re also super cool… and the weddings they shoot are the same.

This one, though, really takes things to a new level. Lauren and Trey had a destination wedding like no other in Capri, Italy. I’m not sure words can even explain the beauty of this place and the perfection of this wedding… if you’re going to elope, there is no question that this is the way to do it… as long as you take Ben and Drew along to capture every second this perfectly.

Seriously, just watch…

And by the way, if you’re wondering about that awesome score?  Drew composes each one himself…

I know.

Welcome to Wedding Film Wednesdays!
